Detailed Review: Salicylic Acid 20% Gel Peel, 30ml (Professional)

I didn’t purchase it here on Amazon but I have to say this is a great product. It is not for the faint of heart. I have very sensitive skin. I was only able to leave it on for probably less than 30 seconds the first time, the second time putting it on, I could only handle a minute BUT the difference was noticeable the 2nd time. If you can handle the tingling/burning sensation, it really is worth it. I make sure to start with the forehead, then to my chin, upper lip, then my checks as that is the most sensitive for me. There isn’t another product like this for such a great price.

At first i was skeptical of this acid peel, but changed my mind soon after.

I took before photos to see the change the peel would have on my face, and its only been about 4 weeks, but i will take pics soon of the after results after 6 weeks.

Im 20, male, white, with slightly oily skin, and acne that sometimes turns horrible on me and makes cysts only on cheeks though. One cyst next to my eye and eyebrow left a bad scar.

This stuff does tingle a bit, but very bearable. Used first for 2 mins, and had no effect, upped it to 4, same result. Used the full 8 mins the next day, started to see improvements. I modified the instructions a bit because my skin is used to exfoliations by 10% benzoil peroxide which only made pimples smaller and face a bit dry.

I used every other day for the full 8 mins every time. But i suggest follow their instructions first before adjusting it. No down time here, and no redness like some people mentioned, and i dont apply moisturizer. The skin feels same before and after application, but results can been seen a few hours after the application as well as increased results over 24-48 hours. The company suggests using a moisturizer, so dont take my word for it that you may not need it, so start with that. I started first using this product with a moisturizer but i think it clogged my pores and cause mild acne.

The results i got were:

-Pores got smaller noticeably on the nose, but not as much on the cheeks.

-Face became much more smoother, the scars got blended in(not the major ones thought)

-Face is less oily after application as well as for the next 24 hours or so. No moisturizer was needed for me, as the amount of oil on my skin after use of the peel stayed at a perfect level.

-Face got lighter (can be seen in my pictures), and red spots from old acne lightened up slightly.

-Acne breakout decreased alot. I no longer get acne on my cheeks and forehead. My problem is the nose and chin, mainly the bottom portion of the nose.

Final Comment: I would recommend this product to first time chem peel users. My sister is trying it right now. My skin is not sensitive, so i will be looking for a stronger solution, maybe 30% salicylic, or 35% glycolic. May buy this (in the 100 mL bottle) after i get rid of my red spots to maintain an acne free face.

Ill keep you guys updated with what happens in the next 2 months or whatever because its only been 1 month, and full results may take much longer. btw, i still have half the bottle left after 1 month use.

Update (aug 16, 2009): I ran out of the stuff and have ordered another bottle, but i have not been getting acne after i stopped, so i think it played a huge role in it. Much less red spots compared to 3 months ago. Scars did not really change much. Skin also feels much more smooth without any pimples appearing all the time.

These drops do something special for my eyes even though they are brown. You know how using dark blue eyeliner brightens your eyes? Try using these drops and navy eyeliner, Wow! The whites of my eyes look brighter and they sparkle more. I will buy it again.

I have done regular hcg previously and I was never sure of the mixing and the dosing, etc. I also was very hungry and got exhausted by the end of the day. I liked the idea of having the dosage controlled and being able to dose several times a day. I have been less hungry and felt MUCH better on this product than on injected hcg! I am extremely happy with it! In addition, I have had direct contact with Yavonae and they are wonderful and have VERY good customer service! The smell is a bit overpowering, however, it moisturizes well and leaves skin feeling really silky. Here is the list of ingredients for those who are mindful of parabens or just want to see if it contains anything their skin might be sensetive to. I’d read that this works better than $150.00 creams so I decided to give it a try. I like it a lot. I don’t know what other reviewers are talking about when they say they don’t like the aroma. I find it has very little, it’s not a bad scent and I can’t smell anything while I’m wearing it. I had to put my nose to the jar to smell anything.

Anyway, I recommend this product.

Detailed Review: Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Moisturizing Treatment, 1.7-Ounce Jar

I have been using the Olay products since about July 2006 and am very pleased. I use the Regenerist Night Recovery Moisturizing Treatment at night on my whole face and neck, after washing with Dove Regenerating Calming Night Soap (liquid, navy colored bottle) and I use Olay Smooth Skin Exfoliating Scrub about once or twice a week at night. In the morning, I use Avon ANew Eye Lift Cream around my eyes and then Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream on my entire face and neck. I think this combo, particularly the Olay Regenerist products have made me look YEARS younger–with the grace of God, of course. I added the Regenerist Night Recovery about 2 months ago, and it made a difference for me. Lots of people at work tell me I look younger, too. My skin feels great! It’s firm and velvet soft. And wait till I tell you, I have lost 50 pounds in the last 9 months! Why do you care? Well, my face should be sagging all over the place with that kind of a weight loss, especially since I carried that weight for years and my skin was well-stretched. I should need a crane just to hold the wrinkles up! Guess what??? It’s firm and velvet soft. I won’t say I don’t own a wrinkle, but they are very very minimal. I’ve had people tell me I don’t have wrinkles, too, but there are little tiny ones there hiding in the makeup. Oh, I’m 57, too–so don’t think I’m 25 and telling you I don’t have wrinkles like they tell you in those adds on TV. It smells great, too. I am sensitive to certain products with perfumes, but not this. No problems.

I am mighty pleased with these products, BUT, use them awhile. Nuthin’ happens overnight, Hon! (We call everybody Hon in Balmer) (That translates to Baltimore).

Update March 2007. I switched the morning treatment from Olay Regenerist Deep Hydration Regenerating Cream to Olay Total Effects 7x. It is great. Super creamy.

Update September 2007–Still using same combination of products–still working great. Am 58 now and have lost 59 lbs and am still quite pleased with these products.

This formula performs – I have been using Repechage for years – and this cream locked more moisture into my skin after one application than my whole experience with pricey French-based marine cosmetics. It’s not greasy at all – it absorbs very well into the skin – even the day time formula. My skin feels like a baby’s butt (!) and it is healthier and cleaner. I’m so impressed, and very happy I tried it.

Detailed Review: Glycolic Acid 35% Gel Peel, 30ml (Professional)

I had some mild post inflammatory hyperpigmentation for which i was using a hyquinone fade cream and this peel has helped tremedously. I have used it about 3 times and have noticed a huge difference in my skins tone. it’s almost perfectly even again. I would highly recommend this product, especially considering that the price is a fraction of what a spa would charge for a single peel.

I always tend to stay away from chemical peels because of the horror stories I hear and because I have fair, oily, acne prone skin.

I purchased the 35% peel just to try it; to see if I’m missing anything. I’m sorry I didn’t have the guts to try it sooner. )

It is absolutely fantastic. I had a couple of breakouts I could not, for the life of me, get rid of. I put this on with a cotton ball, and I did wait the full 4 minutes; it tingled, but did not burn in any way. I washed it off and thought “okay, no miracles here”. My face did feel smoother but that’s about it.

The next two days I noticed quite the improvement. My chin cleared up and my face was, again, smoother, and more even and most importantly, no breakouts. I did not need to even put on powder (which I did not live without).

You do have to use a moisturizer after the peel. I did the first time, but because my face is oily, I didn’t use one the second time. BIG mistake! My face was red and it still tingled 20 minutes after I rinsed off the peel.

As soon as I put moisturizer on, my face felt better and the redness went away.

This peel works wonders for me. I will keep on using it. It’s definitely worth the money.

Detailed Review: Proactiv Solution Repairing Lotion 2 oz

I’ve used Proactiv for about 10 years now. The repairing lotion not only works, but feels good when applied. It has that “department store” quality to the formulation. I tried a Murad product for 3 months, 2 years ago, and can still feel the four small blemishes that arose and remain deep under my skin. You can’t see them, but I can feel them! After returning to Proactiv — no more breakouts. I enjoy ordering from Amazon and the product showing up within a couple of days. It saves me a trip to the mall!

I have trouble with adult acne. This is the only thing I have found that actually works for me! It doesn’t dry out my skin and it works very quickly to stop a break out. I use it routinely in the area I tend to have issues and only when needed on other parts of my face. I haven’t had to deal with a break out since I’ve started using this product. I love it!

This is the only eye cream/serum I plan on wearing. It does not swell my eyes out and drift into them as I sleep. I always said I would never wear eye cream and that they were a waste of time. Once I found Regenerist Eye Serum, I was hooked.

Detailed Review: Proactiv Solution 3 Step System Kit, 2 Month Supply

I started using proactiv when I was around 22. I had never had acne problems as a teen, but all of a sudden around 21, I would get these large painful cystic blemishes maybe once or twice a month on my chin. They tore down my self esteem whenever I had one. I would be afraid to leave the house and try and schedule my life around the stupid things. These were not little baby white heads, They would take a week or more to come to a head and hurt like you would not believe during that process. Then, they’d take forever to heal. I’m fair with freckles, so a honkin’ red mountain the size of a nickel or dime was not good.

I ordered proactiv and have never gone back. Though there has been a time when I tried using only the face wash/scrubby stuff, it doesn’t work by itself and I started to break out again. The key really is using the three steps together. Once you get used to it, it’s not so tedious to have to go through all three steps. I’m 28 now. I rarely breakout and they’re SO much smaller now and really can be attributed to ‘that time’ of the month. Everyone gets a blemish now and then, but no one should have to live with them every day. We’re a household of proactiv users, as my boyfriend uses it daily as well.

For the price I wouldn’t hesitate to go and try it for a couple months(thru the proactiv website). I know it’s NOT super cheap, but now knowing how it works, I would pay double in a heart beat. And honestly, it takes me probably about 6 months to go thru one kit, so it the end it’s not bad at all. Also, some simple tips: Make sure your pillowcase is clean, never go to sleep with makeup on, don’t touch your face unnecessarily and don’t lean your face on a phone/cell phone. Those few things actually helped a lot as well!

I gave it 3 stars because it did work at first.

My acne problems aren’t that serious.

This product worked very well for a good month…and then it stopped being effective. For some reason, even though the wash is a scrub it wasn’t exfoliating properly…and it dried me out. My esthetician said that Proactiv usually works in the beginning for most of her clients…

I remember her telling me once that I didn’t need a salicylic or Jessner peel. I figure, well–maybe the Proactiv was too strong for me…because it stripped my face of moisture.

But…the mask is very good. It’s creamy and cooling. I still go back and forth between the Proactiv mask and the DDF sulfur mask (which is VERY effective). These days I use the Mint Julep Queen Helene scrub, a face wash from the spa I frequent, witch hazel as an astringent (it’s non-drying on my face) and pure/unrefined shea butter as a moisturizer.

Detailed Review: Proactiv Solution Refining Mask 2.5 Oz

I’ve used this mask for years. When I was younger (teens and early twenties) I had oily acne prone skin and used the entire Proactiv system. Now that I’m 30 and my skin has dried out, I use this mask once, or twice a week to clear my pores and to calm inflamed pimples. It works best after a shower when skin is soft and the “gunk,” in your Tzone is soft, too. I apply, hang out for twenty or thity minutes and rinse with warm water, or exfoliate with a warm wash cloth. Results are not permanent, but for a few days at least, bye bye blackheads. Remember, for BEST results, use this mask after your shower, or steam your face carefully over a pot of hot water with a towel (to catch the steam) and apply when skin is warm and soft. =o)

I was once a Proactiv user and eventhough my skin is oily it became very dry. I quit using Proactiv and then realized I needed to use a spot treatment. I tried everything but it either left me looking blotchy or it overdried my skin. I ordered just this refining mask and use everytime I feel something coming on. It works over night! I spot treat lightly at night and in the morning I do the same under my makeup. I LOVE IT!! I hope it’s a product I’ll be able to obtain from here on out. =}
