I have mild-moderate acne and oily skin.
I want to stop using topical acne treatments and just leave my skin alone.
Will I end up getting even more breakouts this way?
Just leave your skin alone and have a good diet and excercise regularly and you should results. Applying all those treatments is not good. Your battle your skin in the long run.

yes, it will get worse, the medication prevents it. But when you use acne treatments, remember that it will get worse before it gets better.

It’ll probably thank you for it and clear up on its own.

well, there is a chance that you might considering the acne treatments are probably doing you at least SOME good towards the problem. if you keep your face washed regularly, with a gentle cleanser, that might help with the oily problem and you might just see it clearing up without the topical treatments.

Hard to tell. It may do your skin some good to have a break. Of course, you still need to wash your face when you get up and before you go to bed and make sure your make-up is completely off. If your comfortable with it, don’t wear make-up. You’ll have to give it a few weeks to see a big difference. Sometimes the only thing that works is time.

Thats kind of a give or take thing.
You could be experiencing more breakouts because something in the topical treatment is irritating your skin, or you are using too much of it.
Try to get a simple face wash, like an apricot scrub, and wash your face when you wake up, and at night before you go to bed.
Acne is sometimes tricky, because if you over-use topical treatments, it will just make it worse. I had the same problem, and stopped using them, and just washed my face gently 2x a day and it has cleared up a lot.

It’s possible. Through my teen years my face was a mess no matter whether I used it or not, but most people do grow (at least mostly) out of acne, so hopefully in the next few years it will clear up naturally. Just make sure that you’re still washing your face twice a day regardless of whether or not you’re using topical acne treatments.

well probably. But people have always dealt with acne problems their own way. I have extremely oily skin and i find i don’t need acne whatever things i just wash my face in the morning with a cool washcloth and before study hall and bed.
