Okay, I have really bad acne scarring as a result of a bad habit of picking and squeezing my pimples during middle school. Every-time I’m finished with washing my face my mother will try to pop and squeeze my pimples for me, but I tell her that it will cause scars and she just doesn’t listen. She says that if I don’t pop them I will get blackheads. My doctor’s appointment is scheduled in two days. What should I do?

You should’t pop at pimples. It just spreads bacteria more, and will cause more breakouts. If you have a pimple and need to get rid of it just simply place a ice cube in a paper towel over it for a little while, it will be red and cold for a moment but later the pimple will go down or away and the redness will be gone too.

you can try over the counter medications, but really, they almost never work. the only thing that actually does work is accutane, which you need a prescription for and has lots of potential side effects. but consider it if it’s right for you.

Stop popping you pimples yea i know they look bad but in the long run you won’t need them any more… When ever your hands make contact with your face it adds the oils from your hands into your pores and it makes the acne flare up.

I suggest you go to a dermotologist. (sp) I got something called clyndameysin (sp) that you put on 2 times a day and your almost 100% acne free……

also when your in the shower use dove soap to wash it lightly

Only pop zits when they’re white on the tip- that means its ready. Disinfect the pin, the put in it right in the white part of the zit.
Then, squeeze it until everything comes out and you either see a clear liquid or blood, then its time to stop.
Then, put some Neosporim on the spot- that’s really important!
….If you squeeze too much or don’t use Neosporim you can scar =/

i am 16 years old with a few pimples here and there. i am seeing a dermatologist soon. i was wondering if popping my pimpels hurts me. my face gets red and irratated when i pick at them. i sometimes cause then to scab. will this lead to major scarring? and should i not pop them, even when they have a white head that looks obvious to pop? thank you for your answers!

Depending on the severity of the pimple, it will lead to scarring. Sometimes the acne can leave pock-marks, or indentations in the skin (if your acne is mild you don’t have to worry about that). If your skin bleeds after popping a pimple then you will definitely get a scar. Popping acne also causes it to spread and forces the bacteria deeper into your skin. I always pop whiteheads just because they are so annoying/unattractive and are not usually big enough to leave a scar. However, make sure you wash the area so the bacteria does not spread. But in general….NOT a good idea to pop pimples!

Yes, I popped my pimples, and yes, its wrong.
They’ve spread, and I’m not popping them…
But where they once were, the skin is almost hard… And it feels really rough. There’s lots of dead skin and it feels like there’s tubes in it…

How can I get rid of them?!
