Blackhead Removal

Are you envy of people who have nice skins? Are there just some people in this world that never have blackheads, whiteheads and pimples no matter what they eat, drink or do? Yes, but very rarely. Chances are they take very good care of their skin. Even if you have any of the above, it’s not like you can’t have a pretty face like them. You just have to know how to properly deal with them and prevent further pimple outbreaks. In this article, we will focus on blackheads. For pimples/whiteheads, refer to popping pimples.
So what are blackheads? Sebaceous glands in your skin produces oil. When these glands get a bit overactive, excessive oil are produced. Skin pores will be clogged. And plugs can form in these pores. When the plugs are exposed to air, they oxidize and become hard. These are now called blackheads. Blackheads can often grow into pimples if not treated properly.
Before we get into how to remove blackheads, it is extremely important to know how not to irritate them and make
them worse. They can grow into pimples, form red nodules and leave scars on your face. I strongly recommend not to squeeze the blackheads with your unwashed fingers. I squeezed my blackheads in my past. I
used my fingers and applied quite a lot of pressure to force the blackheads out. What happened was that the blackheads were removed at that moment, but my face became quite redden. It looked quite bad on my face since some parts of my face are red, some are not. Furthermore, the blackheads I squeezed grew back after a while.
Even if you washed your hands completely, I do not recommend squeezing with your hands. If you applied too much pressure during the squeezing, the squeezed area would become irritated. More importantly, if you open a
wound the the blackhead spot, bacteria can infect that area. Dark nodules can form. The worst thing that can happen is getting acne scarring.
So you want to be clear of blackheads in the next hour. In the following, I will talk about how to use blackhead removal strips:
- Pat your skin using a clean towel with warm water (You can take a warm shower as an alternative). This will soften your skin and open up the pores.
- Use an oil-free cleanser to completely clean your skin (See below for recommended cleansers). Do not use any random soaps. They can irritate your skin.
- Wet a blackhead removal strip.
- Stick it on the infected area for around 10 minutes.
- Rip the strip off your skin
